Porsche IPO confirmed

Porsche IPO confirmed

VW said in a statement that its supervisory board hoped to list the shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by the end of this month or the beginning of October. The transition is planned to be completed by the end of 2022, although it is still subject to future capital market developments. According to media sources, Porsche might fetch a price of 60 billion euros to 85 billion euros, making it one of the biggest European IPOs ever, despite recent market upheaval and lingering concerns over the listing's structure.

In the planned floatation, new investors will be able to purchase 12.5% of Porsche shares, but none would have voting rights. The Qatar Investment Authority has previously indicated "serious interest" in acquiring a portion of this shareholding. VW also announced that retail investors in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland will be able to acquire preferred shares.

VW has previously stated that the IPO will provide the firm with additional financial flexibility as it continues its transition to electric mobility. If the IPO is successful, VW will call an extraordinary general meeting in December to propose to its shareholders a special one-time dividend guaranteed by proceeds from the IPO.
