Google invested 300 million USD in Anthropic

Anthropic confirmed the investment partnership with Google Cloud but did not disclose any figures. Anthropic previously raised capital from Bankman-Fried and other investors in its Series B fundraising round. With the partnership, Anthropic will use Google Cloud's GPU and TPU clusters to train and expand its AI chatbot, "Claude". Google Cloud received about a 10% stake in Anthropic.

This collaboration resembles that of Microsoft and OpenAI, where OpenAI provides its expertise in research while Microsoft contributes a large amount of investment and access to its cloud platform to train advanced AI models. Anthropic is also creating its own chatbot, called Claude, which could be seen as a competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT. However, it is uncertain whether Google intends to integrate Claude into its offerings like Microsoft is doing with ChatGPT. Google already has significant experience in developing AI language systems, and the partnership with Anthropic may be primarily aimed at enhancing Google's cloud computing business.
