The vehicle will be manufactured in Woerth, Rhineland-Palatinate, alongside the truck and bus manufacturer's first electric model, the heavy-duty truck eActros. The first eEconic vehicles will be delivered to a Danish garbage disposal company this year. The first eActros handovers occurred in February of this year. The new truck, like the eActros, will cost about three times as much as its diesel counterpart. According to CEO Martin Daum, the electric vehicles will cost the same in the long term due to decreased fuel expenses.

On the other hand, Daimler Truck is facing heavy supply chain disruptions. They continue to reverberate throughout the world, and the CEO of the world's largest truck manufacturer has warned that component shortages are halting the manufacturing of thousands of his vehicles. Daimler Truck CEO said that the present supply chain crunch is among the worst he's experienced in his more than 25-year career, resulting in substantial delays throughout the company's portfolio of brands.
