New rules from Google

New rules from Google

Google wants to fight misinformation in this way. The technology digital giant has said the number of advertising partners and publishers promoting inaccurate claims about climate change has increased. Advertisers refuse to allow ads that promote any misinformation to appear on their websites.

Advertising partners and publishers have even stated that they are concerned about ads running concurrently or promoting inaccurate claims about climate change. The new rules will prevent the display of such content, mainly denial of climate change, as well as claims which deny that human activity or greenhouse gas emissions are causing climate change.

Google's new policy was consulted with experts who contributed to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Assessment Reports. The new rules should help the digital giant strengthen the integrity of the advertising ecosystem and promote sustainability in direct confrontation with climate change.
