After Tesla's price cut last week, the Tesla Model 3 in France starts at 41,990 euros, compared with 42,000 euros for the Megane electric. Renault's worldwide sales for the first quarter of the year were 354,545 vehicles. The company, which also produces Dacia and Alpine cars and will release group-wide sales data later this week, saw a 5.9% decline in sales in 2022, with the Renault brand, which represents two-thirds of group sales, experiencing a fourth consecutive annual decline of 9.4% in sales last year. The French automaker is relying on higher-margin and electric cars to boost profits after being hit harder than most competitors by the COVID-19 crisis and a global chip shortage.
