The company now expects to achieve adjusted operating profit from operations of 506 million USD to 556 million USD in 2023. Palantir also expects revenue to be between 2.185 billion USD to 2.235 billion USD. These positive projections were influenced by the company's first-quarter results, which showed a net income of 16.8 million USD attributable to common shareholders, compared to a loss of 101.38 million USD in the corresponding period last year.
This performance was driven by new business wins, with commercial revenue increasing 5% YoY to 236 million USD, and government revenue rising 20% YoY to 289 million USD. Customer count grew by 41% YoY, with commercial customer count up by 50% YoY to 155 customers. CEO Alex Karp has stated that the company will be profitable in every quarter until the end of 2023, citing the depth of engagement with their new AI system. However, analysts at Mizuho have noted that Palantir has provided limited information on their plans to capitalize on large language models and how reallocating investments and resources to their AI platform could affect their existing operations.
