The unexpected decline of German industrial production

The Ifo research institute announced that its index of production expectations in the German industry climbed to 30.4 points in March, the highest level since 1991. In February, the index was 21.5 points.

The German economy contracted by 4.9 percent last year due to a pandemic. The German government predicted in January that gross domestic product (GDP) would grow by three percent this year.
