According to the filing, Fred Hutchinson is a sponsor of the project, and Amazon is a partner. The research was announced in October and began on the 9th of June. It is anticipated to be finished by 1st of November 2023. Amazon's involvement in the health-care market has grown in recent years. In 2020, the firm developed an online pharmacy, expanded its telehealth service, Amazon Care, and tried to create at-home medical diagnostics. The cancer vaccine attempt was first overseen by a clandestine research and development organization within Amazon known as Grand Challenge. Now it is supposed to be under the supervision of a cancer research team reporting to Amazon's vice president of devices, Robert Williams.

The news came just in time with Amazon Prime days, which is the biggest event for Amazon, when majority of items are on sale and every year, they are one of the most profitable days for the company.
