The main driver of positive results was the recovering American economy and also helped by
the release of provisions for possible credit. The bank's traders earned 9.05 billion on the
capital markets, a year ago their revenues were a quarter lower.
Jamie Dimon, the bank's chief executive, said demand for credit remained complex and
growth in loans to households, with a possible rise in interest rates, was likely to slow. But he
also noted that US government stimulus and possible infrastructure spending mean the
economy has the potential to experience extremely robust growth.
