Alphabet’s unit Google announced: "The new Dublin centre will be a regional hub for Google experts working to tackle the spread of illegal and harmful content and a place where we can share this work with policymakers, researchers, and regulators."
The hub Dublin is first in the world for the company named the Google Safety Engineering Center which will focus on the content responsibility. Plan of the Alphabet and other world tech giants to designed to ease regulatory concerns connected with the growing problem on the internet. Company was the target of criticism because of the spread of illegal and harmful content via their platforms.
The new proposition rules by European Union will curb their powers, protect smaller rivals, and make them take more responsibility for removing harmful content from their platforms. Mentioned rules proposed by the EU will be valid in the next two years.
Alphabet also announced stopping of iPhone apps (Maps and YouTube) using a tool from Apple. The reason according to Google is informing users of Apple that their browsing is being tracked.
