Barbie ticket sales topped 1 billion USD

Pictures, a division of Warner Bros. Discovery. The fantasy-comedy film has garnered 459 million USD from theatres in the United States and Canada and an additional 572.1 million USD from international markets, bringing the total to 1.0315 billion USD. This achievement has also marked a significant milestone for the film's writer and director, Greta Gerwig, who became the first solo female filmmaker to reach the billion-dollar mark.

“Barbillion has utterly exceeded even our most optimistic projections," commented Jeff Goldstein, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, and Andrew Cripps, President of International Distribution. The film stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the roles of Barbie and Ken, respectively, and follows the iconic doll from Mattel Inc on an exciting journey into the real world. Notably, Barbie ticket sales stand as the second-highest this year, trailing only behind The Super Mario Bros, which premiered in April and has amassed a substantial 1.357 billion USD in global box office revenue.
